Something I saw this morning, which is clearly in the license plate hall of fame - NTROPY.

As of ten minutes ago, I own a '95 Cherokee. Wee ha!

...now I have to go to work. Blah.

From The Digital Bits:

One other Star Wars note - director George Lucas has officially confirmed that he's shot additional scenes to be added into the original film Trilogy to "complete the story".

Can't he just leave it alone!! Damn it, he pisses me off! When he gets around to releasing the original trilogy on DVD, I really hope he has the good sense to include the original theatrical versions as well. It's damn fucking annoying when people take things I remember from childhood and change them so that they don't really remind me of childhood quite so much anymore. Grr!!

On the flip side, the upcoming E.T. DVD will have both the new souped up version, and the original theatrical version. Big ups to Spielberg on that one.

So, there's been a shitload going on.

The band played tonight. We played the local open mic for the second time, two weeks after playing for the first time. Unfortunately (or fortunately, 'cause we made some contacts), there were a number of other bands there tonight. Therefore, we only got to play four songs. In fact, it was only going to be three, until the guitarist from one of the other bands went up to the host and told him he wanted to hear more. That's kind of a microcosm of how the night went, which is to say very well. The crowd was really digging our stuff, and it was really truly exciting to be playing our originals, and to look around the room to a bunch of people bobbing their heads and feet.

One of the guys from one of the other bands came up to me after the show and asked me for some contact info. (...and he was wearing a Quadrophenia T-Shirt, so he must fucking rule.) Anyhow, he said he was planning on trying to get a show together soon, and said he'd like to try to have us open. ...which suits us fine, 'cause right now we've got about an hours worth of original stage material. So, life is really good on that front right now.

Work has been busy. Enough about work.

The car -- I have a new car. :) Well, not quite yet. However, I will have a new car come this Saturday. I'll then take it to get the tires and rear brakes fixed, and all will be well. I'll likely have it all set, and registered and all after Thanksgiving. (Since I'm hitting the road for home late Tues. or early Wed. - that doesn't leave much time.)

So, it's just settling in that it's really 1:23am. Don't worry, I'm still angsty, occasionally cynical, and sometimes lonely. So I'll write about that stuff later. Just not right now. Right now I'm happy and sleepy. :)

Today has not been nearly as much fun as yesterday. As I mentioned to Tom just now when I got in, Yesterday = New Cars, Rock and Roll, Alcohol, and Pretty Women. Today = Working on Radars all day.

Now although working on the radar was rather fun today, I'd much rather have repeated yesterday.

More later. It's Steak Night with Brian and Tom(tm).
