Theorem: If one is a male, then happiness = many pairs of clean boxers and "cool, yo" socks.

Fuck. I haven't purchased anything related to christmas shopping so far this year. Not good. Last year, I had a bit of money saved up, so I went whole hog and tried to buy real cool stuff for all my friends as well as family. This year, I'm feeling the pinch since I just bought a car. So, not only do I have to somehow get all that shopping done, but kind of conserve, and decide where to say "I can't get this person a gift."

I'm real bad at that part. It's a psychological thing. I like making people happy.

I suppose my bank account is going to teach me coping skills.

It's starting to look like the Back to the Future trilogy will actually arrive on DVD in 2002. Holy Jesus fuck, it's about damn time.

Yesterday got a bit better, thankfully, as the day wore on. Nothing all that exciting happened, or anything, but it was a solid chain of positive events, which is much better than how the day started off. Rehearsal was the most fun. We actually spent most of our time not playing, but figuring out the logistics of recording six of our songs, which we're going to start working on this weekend. Our goal is to likely take four, or at most, five, of the tunes recorded and make a demo CD out of them. From that we'll be able to get local gigs. Then we're going to take all six songs, and make a homebrew EP on our computers that we can sell at shows.

I'm looking forward to the recording process a great deal. It's going to keep me very busy for the next few weeks, but unlike previous bands, we're working on original material that I'm intimately familiar with. It's so much more of a personal project than any of the recordings I've done in the past. We're hoping to have things completely recorded before the new year, so we can have a very rough mix to bring home to show the family and friends.

This is shaping up to be a very very busy, but extremely entertaining weekend. Friday, I have a date. We were supposed to go out this past Tuesday, but we moved it back a couple of days. I haven't met her in person yet, since she's a net.girl, but we've spoken a few times, seen each other's photos and all, so I'm hoping I'll be able to add it to the growing pile of non-disastrous encounters with folks I've met on the net. (For a while there, the disastrous encounters far outweighed the non-disastrous ones.) Saturday, we begin recording the Angstrom demo, starting with drum tracks and scratch guitar tracks for the tunes. That's gonna kick ass. Saturday night I'm heading down to CT to check out Kristine's show, which is the story, told musically, of how Tori Amos got through three miscarriages and eventually managed to have a child. (She has two now, actually, I think. Maybe.) After that there's talk of some partying going on or something...it's should be a blast. Needless to say, (but I'll say it anyway) I'll be staying there. Sunday, on the way home, I'll be stopping at my former roommate's apartment. I've yet to check out his place, so we're going to hang out and get some grub. I'm going to try to armbar Tom into coming with us, since it's been a while since the three of us (who are good friends) all hung out together. Sunday night I have a hockey game.

So, very busy, but very fun.

Things with the new car are going very well so far. I'll try to post pictures of it this weekend, or early next week. Whenever I have some time on a sunny day to take a picture or two.

From the "You wouldn't think I'd still suck this badly at 24, and yet somehow I do" department: I drove all the damn way to work, parked the car, and walked much of the way to the office door...and then remembered that I'd left a very important book back at the apartment, along with some important papers. So, yep, I had to drive all the way back home. Here I am. Now I have the book and I'm back off to work. Oy...

Next thing I know I'll be reliving all those stereotypical dreams people purportedly get, and I'll be driving to work in my boxers or something.

At least I've got some good tunes in the car.

Heh heh. My port feels violated.

New Car on road. Old car donated to American Cancer Society. (The Jeep Jeep is dead, long live the Jeep Jeep!) Clothes recently washed folded and put away. Apartment kind of cleaner than when I started. Bed looking very cozy now.

Coming sometime before next thanksgiving: what I'm kind of, on some level, when I'm not being moody, thankful for.

Coming sometime in the next fifteen minutes: tooth brushing.

I think, perhaps, other entries might be more exciting than this.
